At The Smoking Tire HQ (Aka, where me, my girlfriend and Tom live and work in Redondo Beach), we have a problem with reality TV. Tom’s favorite is far and away Jersey Shore, and he asks me every single day if it’s time for a new episode. Me? I like Tool Academy because you’ve got people who knowingly signed up for a show called Tool Academy, and well, you can imagine how smart they are. My girlfriend Tracy, likes Ace of Cakes. It’s about a bakery that makes crazy wedding cakes for rich people, and I’ll admit that some of them are pretty cool. Well, Tracy managed to get me out of the house for a couple hours and made her first try for my recent 28th birthday (Thanks, Facebook birthday wall posters!) and made me a Corvette cake for when we returned from Medieval Times!
Ok so maybe she won’t be getting her own reality baking show any time soon, but the effort is truly there. For instance: the wheels are the Christmas-themed (they have stars on them which resemble the pattern of my wheels), and have red frosting, like the insides of my wheels. The proportions may be off, but from the rear it’s clearly a Corvette, and the shape of the front fenders is correct. Tinted windows courtesy of Fruit-Roll-Up. Oh, by the way, it tasted amazing.
