2010 Bullrun Rally: Day 3 – Chicago to Omaha

The Bullrunners depart Chicago, in a mess of lost, for Omaha, Nebraska. There’s never a shortage of surprises on the Bullrun, and today doesn’t upset. We get lost and angry, drive the tires off our car, and finally figure out a good strategy.

This video does of course beg the question?…Which is really the best radar detector?.. (barring any sponsors of course). I need to buy the one that actually works the best, I dont care about price. K40, Valentine One? What were you using when you got 5 tickets?

    • smokingtire says:

The best radar detector is the Valentine One by far. It's the only one that has arrows to show you where the signal is coming from. However, the catch is, if the cop doesn't actually use radar to catch you, it's useless, as was the case with the 4 tickets at once in NJ, and the following day in OH.

Matt…..how the hell you don’t have your own TV show- it’s not right. You are doing one helluva job covering the rally and your normal stuff you do is just as good.

One question…5 freaking tickets in 2 days? How many points and dollars is that?

  3. Steve says:

So is there a detector that will pick up laser? Is that what was used? I realise that there really is no defence against things like VASCAR (a timing device)…

    • smokingtire says:

the V1 has a laser detector, but laser is instant and direct. if it goes off, they already have you. My own personal cars have laser jammers, but we can't install those in press cars.

      • Steve says:

Sooooo which lazer jammers? Do they work?….

PS there are many thousands of miles of roads that great, or better, right here in colorado…

    PS Thanks for the info…
