Audi Quattro Concept is Go For Production!

Quattrophiles rejoice! The drop-dead gorgeous Audi Quattro coupe concept was spotted cruising the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, and its driver let slip a tasty nugget of information: the coupe has been greenlit for a limited production build.

A Jalopnik reader took these photos of the Quattro at a gas station in Malibu, concept license plates, concept interior and all, being escorted by the California Highway Patrol. Along with it, heading for a photo shoot but not pictured, was a classic 1980′s Audi Quattro coupe. Given the original Quattro’s racing credibility, the new coupe has a large set of tires to fill, but we’re confident that with Audi’s commitment to performance, it won’t disappoint.

We especially like the juxtaposition of the S5-like profile curves and wheel arches with the throwback rear end and wing treatment. We’ll send a free The Smoking Tire T-shirt to the first tuner company that turns one of these into a Group-B Rally tribute racer.

I really like this thing but why do I see the side profile of a Camaro and the front end of an LF-A? Maybe it's just me.

I have to disagree with you on this one Matt. Maybe it's the color or perhaps the car doesn't photograph well….but I don't find this car attractive.

It seems a bit bulky from the photos, almost as if its trying to be a muscle car…. I wonder if it'll keep up to a Nissan GTR

doubtful, and I don't think it's designed to keep up with a Nissan GTR. It looks more like a performance tourer than a supercar. They have the R8 for that.

OH man I want one. Had many Coupe GTs and a UR Quattro but they were nothing like this. This is closer to the B car.
I hope the economy picks up so I can afford one : )
