For most men, a minivan means castration. Why did SUV’s get so popular in the last two decades? Because men, who were buying a set of wheels for their family, would rather spend twice as much money each week on gassing up a Suburban than buy a more practical minivan.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Chrysler has a plan to lure these men into their showrooms and back into minivans: The Man Van. As a man, here are the things I’d want to see in a minivan: a turbocharged V6 or V8 engine, rear wheel or all wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension, sport seats, and paddle shifters for the automatic transmission.
What will the “Man Van” actually come with? According to WSJ:
The vehicle will feature a slightly sportier look on the outside, possibly finished off with a black-and-gray interior trimmed with hot-colored stitching on the seats and steering wheel.
Great pitch, guys, exactly what men want.

If this thing can fit 2 full size motorcycles in the back i'd consider it. I have been wanting a vehicle that I can unload my bikes at the track then sleep in the vehicle (where the bikes were) and not have to buy a hotel or set up a campsite. I could use a E-150 or equivalent but I would not want to drive that everyday and pay for the gas…if im gonna get 15MPG id at least want it to haul ass ya know… but that Man-Van concept does seem lame.
Oh God…
Eeeeeexactly,…craptacular…..and I dont care if it is raptor orange, paint dont make it cool!
Why cant these car companies get some execs with some common sense…?
Hay Dodge… wagon.
See what you’ve started Toyota, swaggerwagon my ass
I think it's an OK idea. Not the best idea in the century but if you want to haul your family and have a tiny bit of fun that is a way to go!
no it isn't. This car is just a regular minivan with a body kit.
oh course, thats coming from a ford owner. lmao
LOL, if they're just changing the color scheme and some of the aesthetics they might as well just make it a joke!
As crazy as this is about to sound, I think those wheels actually look pretty good on it. I am a bit confused though. You say men flock to SUVs to have something that looks cooler than a minivan. So chrysler builds a minivan that looks cool, only to be ridiculed for a lack of performance…like a Honda Pilot is some kind of manly, sports car. Unfortunately I think its a problem of stigma. Even if they put 500 horsepower in it men will still hate it because its a minivan. Its like the Mazda Miata, fabulous car but since its stigmatized as girly most men will never consider it. The Dodge Caravan is actually a really practical car, perhaps even unnecessarilly practical…a table? really? But all this said I still wouldn't buy one, although I wouldn't buy an SUV either so…
Just stick a Hemi in it numb nuts..
a 5.7 will do.. preferably a 6.1 SRT 8.
typical, mopar guy. ( me smash rocks, me make smaller rocks ) lol
Lol good one.
I drive a Toyota tho and never owned a Dodge in my life…
In actuality tho, I like the Dodge Caravan.. my mom had one, I always thought it was a nice vehicle, super comfortable excellent ride quality lots of amenities.. I wouldn't mind owning one if it had 2 15's and some really dark tints Lol.
Why not a REAL manual transmission and a turbo, like they used to offer 20 years ago?
It's funny that they mention AWD because they used to offer that too but of course dropped it when this generation came out.
Hey…if you want a truck, get a truck. An honest 4 wheel drive Tahoe, or something else built on a real truck frame. These so called "crossovers" are a joke. They're cars with box bodies…in reality a reincarnation of the old station wagon. The minivan started all this, and is really the same thing, only it is ultimately practical…..it runs circles around the "crossovers" in utility, flexibility, interior space, and great highway manners….and it is what it is with no pretensions. I love trucks, but for travel you can't beat a nice minivan. I'll take one of each…Thank you.
