Volkswagen Touareg TDI – Top Speed Dry Lake Test

The Smoking Tire takes the 2010 Volkswagen Touareg TDI to El Mirage Dry Lakebed to see how it behaves on the road and off it. We also see how fast it will go in the one place we could think of with no speed limit. Video after the jump.

    What tires were on the car? All seasons? Summers? I could see how the wrong tire on that kind of surface might result in a blowout.

    I can't wait for the start of the Bullrun. Gumball was totally lame this year. May the Bull run be bad azz. Matt you need to do something to the WU crew. I don't know what but think of something. I mean you are a smart guy right?

    Touareg review works just fine, A3 review is not available in my country (germany). Though I know it`s probably not your fault, I just don`t get it.

      It's not our fault at all. Youtube chooses to ban certain videos in certain countries because of whatever music royalty rights happen in those countries. If you can't watch the YouTube feed, you can also watch on iTunes or Streetfire.

    i am planning to buy this car but i little bit in confusion due to its specs and cost. cannot decide whether i should go for it or not. the specs are good and as far as VW is concerned they have always been very promising. i m just stuck with the price. is there any alternative to this car. if there is some good one in VW or somewhere else then that would be appreciated. THANX
