F1 Brings Donuts to Prove They’re Serious about a NY GP [video]

by Zack Klapman

That is F1 phenom Sebastian Vettel and former F1 driver/current curator  of the world’s largest jaw, David Coulthard, doing donuts in New Jersey. This was their way of showing the guys from DRIVE (and a handful of other press) that F1 and Ininiti is serious about a New York/New Jersey race. So they brought the press out, gave some rides, scared some motorists (the roads weren’t quite closed enough), and did some donuts.

Then David drove the Championship-winning RB7 Red Bull car in and out of the Lincoln Tunnel, and did a sweet burnout. (Red Bull will be posting that video in about a week.)

What this is all about is Red Bull and F1 showing all of us they mean business about bringing an F1 race to the streets of NY/NJ. Leo Parente is skeptical, we are hopeful. To watch the donuts, the driving, an interview with David, and Leo’s thoughts, make the jump.
