TST Podcast Ep. 25 with Dan Neil

by Zack Klapman

Happy 4th of July minions of speed. By now many of you are too drunk to right-click anything, or outside committing misdemeanors with explodey things that you may or may not have made at home. To soothe your hangover and/or keep you company in a holding cell, we have a great podcast, with the Wall Street Journal’s Dan Neil.

If you don’t know Dan Neil, you should. He has been an automotive journalist for over 20 years, was a co-host on the forever-dead “The Car Show”, and writes very good, very honest, car reviews for WSJ (Check it out, and keep a Thesaurus nearby). This man knows cars, old and new. He gets to fly around the world, driving Ferraris in the snow, or meeting Tesla CEO Elon Musk for an early drive in the new Model S, which Dan believes might be the best car ever. Bold statement.

We also talk about one very stupid Model S owner, the best AWD car for under $10k, argue about Dodge Daytona’s, and why gold wheels are totally bad ass, on the right car. Make the jump to download the podcast, and check out the pics and videos so you know what we’re talking about.

Really appreciate the pics to go along with what you were pulling up during the podcast. Please keep those coming!

This is what the car show should have been. I really enjoyed the podcast, you guys worked very well together. Can't wait until the next one!

Hey guys, I love the podcast, and Dan is the man as far as I am concerned. Between the 2 of you I see no reason to follow anyone else's car advice and automotive journalism for pure entertainment and sound value advice. However, those mics you use for the podcasts really do need a right seeing to. The gap between really quiet and bloody loud is very frustrating! Tell me how much you need to spend on some new mics, and I'll organize some fundraising carwash / bake off with local hookers.

It's about $2,000 for proper mics. And until we get some sponsors up in this bitch, we're not going out of pocket for it.
