Stealing Porsche Lights to Grow Weed [w/video]
By Zack Klapman
Apparently Porsche‘s HID lights are good for something besides illuminating future venison and Starbucks parking lots. According to CarsGuide.com, cops in the Netherlands are reporting numerous thefts of Porsche headlights. Not to resell on Ebay, but for growing weed indoors. Plenty of hydroponic shops and sites list HID lights as the go-to for indoor growing. The HID light closely mimic the suns ray spectrum, perfect for flowering crops. But they, like the love of your child, cost money. Hence theft. The Porsche HIDs cost$1000 (each. Where can I buy stock in Porsche’s options catalog again?), put out a ton of light, and probably look pretty cool mounted on your ceiling. They also require much less electricity to operate, hiding a common tell of illegal growing; electricity bills. Make the jump to see a video of a thief in action, yanking the lights out.
But remember, when using Porsche lights, there is a risk of your plants growing up with unjustified confidence, cockiness, and assumption of future wealth. It’s up to the parents to curb that.
And to, you know, evade the police.
