Video: Zero F*cks Were Given When Building this RX7 – TUNED
When we met Corbin Goodwin in the hills of Malibu while shooting the Audi RS5 and Lexus LS460 reviews, we knew we had to put a camera on this kid. His car was the mechanical embodiment of his entire personality; smart, function-over-form, and quick as can be. His first-generation RX7, a project for the last two years, is the absolute pinnacle of ghetto engineering gone right. From the paper, handwritten gauges to the near-straightpipe exhaust, tendency to oversteer and possibly the worst interior we’ve ever seen on a (running) car, this RX7 is what rat rodding is all about, just performed on an import. And though it looks terrible, it’s a thrill ride we’ll never forget, and a testament to youthful ingenuity that it is more reliable and dialed-in than many of the big-dollar builds we filmed. Hit the jump for a special episode of Tuned. **Updated with Corbin’s Build Thread**
